For the latest on resolving timeshare issues, see my website at www.timeshare-attorney.com .
Please know that an advance fee should not be paid for renting or selling your timeshare. For trading it in or donating it, as follows, the fee should not be taken until the transfer can be completed, like a normal escrow situation.
Here is some information on methods of turning in your unwanted timeshare, either as a charitable donation or turning it in to a timeshare trade-in company. These methods and companies have been provided to me by an experienced and very reputable marketing and travel company, but I have not had direct experience with them. I would appreciate your feedback.
Regarding a trade in to Resort Closings, Inc., see www.resortclosings.com .
It can be a little pricey, but if it is a high priced timeshare then it may be worth it from a tax perspective.
Or you can just turn it over to Resort Closings for about $570 plus any resort transfer costs.
Of course there are some properties they do not accept. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like forms you can use to liquidate your unwanted Timeshare.
I hope this helpful,
Roger
